Piglio is located at the center of a series of medieval villages along the slopes of Mount Scalambra mountain towards the Sacco valley, where vineyards and olive groves thrive.
The olive and wine tradition, with the production in particular of the DOCG Cesanese del Piglio wine, strongly characterizes the territory, the heart of the Cesanese Storico, together with the municipalities of Anagni, Acuto, Serrone, Paliano, Affile and Olevano Romano, to be distinguished from the Cesanese dei Castelli Romani.

Chemical
We monitor our work through chemical analysis and chromatographic tests for both soil and wine.
The territory is predominantly hilly (300-550 m) and boasts a noble and ancient tradition of viticulture, as evidenced by the historical finds unearthed by working the “ancient” lands and vineyards with still vines that survived phylloxera.
The soil of volcanic origin, the steep terrain that prevents any stagnation of water and the good exposure make this an area of good enological potential. The planting system is mainly in rows, with 3000-5000 plants per hectare with Guyot and / or spurred cordon system. The climate has been always very variable: sometimes spring frosts, very hot summers, average rainfall (1200ml / sqm) and poor winds. But the “year factor” has an ever greater influence in recent times.
